How to choose a good doggie Frisbee

I bought a doggie frisbee yesterday for Nitro. its made of rubber and smaller in size as its for puppies, so i thought it will be suitable for small dogs.
When i start to play it with Nitro, it seems too heavy to take flight....

So my question is will conventional plastic frisbee work better?

And Nitro's gonna be doing this soon! haha
