Dogs for TV/Film productions & Stage Performances
Animals were considered problematic in local film production and were barely seen on TV in the early days until, Patrick’s Border Collie, Waggie, who was featured in “My Fair Ladies” alongside with Zoe Tay, Aileen Tan & Jazreel Low in 1988. Waggie has changed the opinion of TV producers about dogs being “unmanageable” in film studio. Since then, canine co-stars have became popular in many TV serials, commercials, “live” shows and Stage Musicals. (see below for a sample of projects)
Waggie-Junior, our 4 year old Bearded Collie, was cast a devoted and brave dog who saved his owner’s life in the TV serial “Mr OK” in December 1998. It was indeed, the first time in the history of local film production that a dog exploited a major role. Junior was given only 2 months training to perform in the 10 episode drama. Mr OK was being broadcast in July 99. Junior has received a amazing outcome with a total vote of 3,869 in Media City which makes him the most popular cast in the serial.
